Lets start with the six basic items to achieve a Glowing and Flawless Skin -
Primer -
Starting your makeup with a primer can solve a lot of problems. It provides a base for the rest of the makeup. If you prefer to use moisturizers than primer you can skip that step. But it offers tremendous benefits – it controls oil throughout the day for oily skin , lightly moisturizes, creates a smooth surface, fills in fine lines and creases before you further apply any makeup. The most important feature of any primer is that it gives staying power to all your makeup. Primer preps your skin for foundation and eye shadow by creating a smoother canvas to which all makeup will stick for a better look. For oily skin , it helps from looking shiny later in the day.
Foundation -
The next step is to apply a base on the skin that is Foundation and the word itself speaks volume. It is meant to even out the skin tone and create smoother skin texture by filling in pores and covering any redness or skin discoloration. Foundations with moisturizers are best for dry skin. Level up your pores and linings using the liquid foundations. They smoothen your skin and provide a perfect base. Foundations come in different forms - Tinted moisturizer, Liquid foundation, Cream foundation, Sheer Foundation , Matte Foundation , Mousse or Whipped Foundation to name a few.
Concealer -
Concealer is used to cover spots of redness, dark under eye circles, pigmentation spots and any other areas that the foundation is not able to hide. Concealers also come in different forms - creamy or hard consistency in a stick , tube or pencil.
Powder -
Powder is used to set your skin for makeup. It can be used on its own instead of foundation, if you want a light matte look. Now these come in 2 forms - loose and pressed. Loose powder is very light and can be skin toned or translucent. This type of powder doesn’t last long because of its loose consistency and weightlessness. On the other hand, pressed powder is heavier and therefore gives better coverage and staying power plus gives a much better skin glow.
Highlighter -
Highlighting gives another dimension to skin glow and same goes with contouring. With these two products you can accentuate some features while diminishing others. For example, you can make a wide nose look narrower, create a more defined jaw line, and bring out your cheekbones and brow bones. Basically, the darker contour shadow is used to create depth, while the light shimmery highlighter brings things forward. You have to just follow light or dark contouring options depending on how you want your face to look like and glow. Don’t choose shades that are drastically lighter or darker than your natural skin tone. If you have fair skin, use a very light shade to highlight and a fair to medium color to contour. If you have darker skin, use a medium toned highlight and a contour slightly deeper than your skin color. If you have very dark skin and can’t find a deeper shade of foundation to contour with, a dark eye shadow will do the trick !
Blush -
No look is complete without a splash of color on your face and this is where a blush and bronzer are used. It instantly brightens up your face and gives you a healthier, fresh and younger appearance.
There..., you are all set !
Now go astound the world with your flawless skills and remember to take your pick and experiment until you find one that you love.
Until next - Stay Blessed and Beautiful !
